After struggling with the American music industry, the Beatles albums were released and heard throughout the U.S. and their fan base grew with a never before seen intensity. Two weeks before the group arrived at the JFK International Airport 2.6 million copies of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" sold to the American public. Around three thousand fans met the Beatles at the airport that day and in the start of what is known as the "British Invasion." From that moment on the Beatles placed a monopoly on rock music around the world and continue to be an influential and popular band in today's generations.
